The size of our impact on our environment and future is important to us, and so is flavour. We believe in eating plant-based not only because it reduces our footprint but also because it can be delicious. That’s where we come in. We’d like to lead by example and help change the world so that people can be friendlier to our earth and more health-conscious.
Beef is about 60% water, so when it is dried most of the weight is evaporated. It takes about 2.5 lbs of quality beef to make 1 lb of jerky. Additionally, many jerky companies use expensive chemicals and preservatives when making their jerky, and waste a lot because of how they make it. Not us. We make our product with soy, which is not only friendlier, but also contains all the nine essential amino acids and is considered an all-natural, complete protein.
North Jerky is high in carbs, we know. Here’s the catch: the carbohydrates in soy are called complex carbohydrates — the good kind. Did we also mention that soy is a good source of indigestible fibre carbohydrates?
